Lying on a long 3-sitter tattered couch, He stares at the roof of the small rented apartment he could manage to afford after trying to get connections in the unknown area he was posted too but to no avail. He is putting on a white singlet and a faded blue short with his CALVIN KNLIEN boxers peering out. He shakes his head and picks up his phone.
He turned on his data, opened his Instagram app and started scrolling and liking flaunty curvy pictures of different ladies. He switches to his gallery and reached inside his boxers as he started watching porn…

“TOLANI!”
“Maaaa!”
“Quickly. Remove your uniform, soak the garri and groundnut there and drink then go sell those oranges”.
“I wanted to quickly wash my uniform before I go”TOLANI replied.
“Don’t worry I will ask TUNDE to wash it for you when he and Tolu gets back from grinding the beans” Mama TOLANI said as she added more groundnuts into the nylon she was tying for sale.
Okay mummy”.
Tolani is 19yrs old and in SS2. Few years back her father left she and her younger ones with her mum. Tolu was just 2years old then. And Tunde 7. She started helping her mum wash people’s cloth and do other things to make ends meet since she was 9. She missed 3 academic years before her mum could finally bounce back and send her to school again. And the tough days still aren’t over till date.
Tolani squeezed her face and soliloquizes ‘When will I stop this hawking of a thing? It’s become more embarrassing for me with my classmates and if i tell mum now she won’t get it’. She puts on a trouser and a tank top, ties a scarf, puts her OSUKA and as she was about to put the tray on her head, Mama Tolani walks in and told her to change the top: She knows what her mum meant; she reluctantly oblige and left the house…

Seun yells in frustration; drops his phone and stood up, he walked to the stove, opened a cabinet peers in looking for something to eat but slams it back in annoyance.
‘Stupid Government! When will they pay us and this deserted area is not even making things fair. What will I eat now, na to go steal? This useless government don’t even know shit’. He soliloquizes.
“BUY ORANGES. Buy oranges!” Tolani looks around as she calls for customers. She sees a friend of hers and waved stylishly back.
SEUN who was pacing around in his house stops when he heard the approaching female voice. He peeped from He is window and stared at Tolani as she approaches.
“This girl hot oo and e be like say no be the first time wey I dey see her for this area be this…I dey feel this girl, she no go resist, fine boy like me, make I go try her and her oranges.” SEUN scratches his head as he stepped outside.

This is nice, lovely stories.
I strongly believe this constant issue of rape will be drastically reduced if not totally eradicated cz sometimes the best way to stop what you do not want from happening is to get angry at it. People are angry, crying out for justice everywhere and this is absolutely a step further.

Right, Naomi Kuity. Everybody has started crying against rape now. It is big step forward.
