“It’s a day for celebration, love and praises but somehow i pray that the day wouldn’t come.
It’s either that, or when it eventually comes it’s quickly spent without anyone knowing its my day.
It started as a feel of nothing special, there is nothing to celebrate. As a way to punish myself and the only one around wouldn’t lift much finger.
Sometimes they did, But the ones who made celebrations worth celebrating aren’t here.
There is almost no jubilation, not even in the new year.
Perhaps i dwell so much in the old ways, and I can’t get over how celebrations were done, right from when i was a baby -but I can’t always get what i want.
But this year, everyone’s noticed. Everything went overboard and now it’s turned anxiety.
It’s a few minutes to my birthday, and I’m in tears. Fighting alone, so sad to celebrate.
But, I can’t let everyone down.
Those that have forced me to smile, found a way to my heart.
Those that has talked me into believing in myself, those that I have talked into believing in themselves. The one that kept me. Those that finds me worth celebrating, find me cheerful and put in so much work into this day.
It’s my birthday, I’ll smile, be it within or because you are smiling at me.
It’s my birthday, born on this day but it’s you that is the celebrant.”

The birthday candles flickered bright,
And laughter filled the air,
But in the midst of all the cheer,
A sadness lingered there.
For as the guests assembled round,
Two brothers stood apart,
One overjoyed and on display,
The other with a heavy heart.
Theo and Brown, the brothers two,
Were born on this same day,
But as they grew, they took different paths,
And drifted far away.
For Theo had found new friends,
And they were all he cared to know,
While Brown was left behind to watch,
His brother’s love for family go.
The birthday boy was all smiles,
With his friends by his side,
But when Brown tried to snap a pic,
Theo just stepped aside.
And though the party carried on,
Brown’s heart felt sore and sad,
For he had lost his brother’s love,
To friends who only made him glad.
So as they blew out candles bright,
Theo and Brown both knew,
That they had grown apart so much,
There was little they could do.
And as the day drew to a close,
The brothers went their way,
One to a life of joy and friends,
The other with a heart in decay.
For though they shared the same birthday,
Theo and Brown had lost,
The bond that once had bound them tight,
And now they paid the cost.
