Some dolls are cast aside in a town called UGLY VILLE because they are not extremely beautiful: they live everyday expecting one doll thrown in to their cycle and boosted with hope daily by MOXY (cast:KELLY CLARKSON) about something new changing and going out to a world where they will be accepted.
She decides to leave UGLYVILLE to the BIG WORLD one day and convinces some other UGLYDOLLS Wage, Babo, Lucky Bat, UglyDoll and Peggy to go with her: their first arrival was at the INSTITUTE OF PERFECTION to train for the big world and their challenges starts with when the scanners broke while scanning them for perfection and other perfected young dolls freaks out when they saw the UglyDolls.
And then a very popular doll that every other doll is fascinated about-Louis(Cast:NICK JONAS) tags them as ‘UGLY’-The dolls felt sad and different and heads to leave but Moxy spotted a clip and imagines being loved and convinces the others to stay. LUO challenges her and is on to get them all.
MANDY (Cast-JANELLE MONAE) who uses glasses to see but hides it from Lou and co makes friends with the UGLYDOLLS.Lou sends Tuesday, Lydia and Kitty (cast:BEBE REXHA, LIZZO & CHARLIE XCX) female dolls to UGLYVILLE to discover informations about them and they capture OX (Cast-BLAKE SHELTON).
During their day-to-day training at the institution; LU makes it more difficult for them to train successfully at the institute.
Ox joins them and tells them his story about how he once trained at the institute and how LU sent him back so he won’t get recycled and he ended up in UGLYVILLE: the dolls learns that they are rejects and they all went back to UGLYVILLE where everything deserted and hope drained.
Mandy shows up at UGLYVILLE and encourages MOXY to go back. *UNBREAKABLE*.
Lydia, Tuesday and Kitty shows up at UGLYVILLE and kidnaps Mandy and Moxy: Lu throws them for recycling.
The other UGLIES shows up and rescues them from the recycler.
All the UGLYDOLLS shows up at the Gauntlet and LU swears to make them lose. The Uglies and Mandy passes the Gauntlet. And Louis fails because he is a prototype and tries to turn the Uglies and Mandy to one like him-stuck in the Institution forever. Lou breaks the portal.
Ox and Lou get into a fight and they stop Lou.
They build the portal back together and it is permanently open wide.
Moxy steps Inside the portal and a parent reaches out and gives Moxy to their little girl who smiled and hugged Moxy.
