ANGELINE KIDJO- a BENINSE Singer-songwriter, actress and activist shares that we need good education all across Africa to be able to stand for our right and for everything that we do to be informed.
But before the perfomances commenced: a word from the president of SOUTH AFRICA, the chair person of the AFRICAN Union-PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA: The President of SOUTH AFRICA tells us that the CORONA VIRUS is one of the biggest threat that human has faced and he explains how it is poor countries that will suffer the most. He commends the Artistes, the actors and musicians for contributing to the relief of CONVID-19.He tells that CONVID-19 has no respect for boundaries and is still with us and so therefore we have to adapt to a new way of life, a new norm and continue to practice the effect of social distancing and hygiene to keep ourself and others safe. And it is a new world of EMPATHY, COMPASSION and SOLIDARITY. And we should all continue in unity, purpose and action and continue to help others who calls for it. TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER.
“Whatever the difficulties, AFRICA shall prosper. However improbable it may sound, AFRICA will be at peace. Whoever we may be, whatever our immediate interest, however much we carry baggage from the past…however much we have been caught by the fashion of cynicism and the loss of Faith in the people;let us err today and simply say NOTHING CAN STOP US NOW. ~THABO MBEKI, Former President of SOUTH AFRICA [1998-2008]. Read by BOITY THULO, SOUTH AFRICAN Television Personality.
“I have walked that long road to freedom, I have tried not to falter, I have made missteps along the way but i have discovered the secret that after cli Bing a great hill, one only finds that there are more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious Vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance that I have come but i can only rest for a moment for with freedom comes responsibility and I dare not linger; for my long walk’s not ended”. ~ NELSON MANDELA, SOUTH AFRICAN anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader and philanthropist who served as President of SOUTH AFRICA from 1994 to 1999. Read by ADESUA ETOMI -WELLINGTON, Nigerian Actress & Philanthropist.
“Our children may learn about heroes of the past, yet our task is to make ourselves architects of the future”. ~JOMO KENYATTA, KENYAN Anti-Colonial activist and politician who governed KENYA as its Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964. Read by NOMZAMO MBATHA.
“It’s clear that we must find and AFRICAN solution to our problems:and these can only be formed in AFRICAN unity;divided we are weak, UNITED AFRICA could become one of the greatest forces for good in the world”. ~KWAME NKRUMAH. Ghanaian politician and revolutionary. He was the first prime minister and president of GHANA.
