Under the mission to reopen and fight for her family to not get deported the next day …A young Jamican born pragmatic NATASHA KINGSLEY (Black-ish & Grown-ish’s Zoey- YARA SHAHIDI) heads put in the street of NEW YORK bent on spending the day to male sure that her family gets a re-hearing and they don’t leave the city New York where she grew up the next day .
DANIEL JAE HO BAE (Riverdale’s star-Charles Melton)a chinese medical student who wants to be a poet but is cajoled by his parents to become a medical doctor wakes up and scribbled in his poem book “Deux ex Machina” . After breakfast and another unpleasant remarks from his brother, he heads out for an interview to get into DARTMOUTH college and sees Natasha looking up at the ceiling in GRAND CENTRAL’s main lobby (a place where every one was looking ahead, in a rush to be some where ). He was stunned and when Natasha turns her back to leave he notices the same phrase he was thinking about that morning printed at the back of her jacket-” DEUX EX MACHINA”. He runs downstairs after her and when he and his friend Omar got to the spot where she was standing; she was no where to be found.
Omar had to leave for school and teased Daniel “hey! Text me when you come back to planet earth”.
Daniel entered a train heading to his interview and noticed Natasha at then other department of the train. He followed her again (she was listening to music) and after the train stopped and after seeing a car that was swerving recklessly hit a cyclist and was heading towards her direction he rushed to pull her away. He saved her life.
Natasha is a science student who doesn’t believe in love and when she and Daniel sat down to talk she teased about his poem book that it is only about love and as far as you can’t observe it, measure it or experiment on it..it isn’t real.
Daniel proposes to Natasha to do an experiment and makes her fall in love with him and he needs a day.
Natasha doesn’t have a day. He asks for an hour.
Daniel’s got a call and his interview was rescheduled for the next day. And Natasha’s meeting with the lawyer JEREMY MARTINEZ was postponed to 4:30pm cuz the lawyer was hit by a car while cycling.
So, with more time to kill…
Natasha and Daniel continued to hang and things headed accurate but did it all….
