In 2013, ANATODD posted the first chapters of the fan fiction titled AFTER on WATPAD. Her original story was based on HARRY STYLES, LIAM PAYNE and ZAYN MALIK from the musical group ONE DIRECTION as students of WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY.
The story portrays as an ‘innocent good girl who gets caught up and distracted by bad boy Harry Styles. And it gained about 544 million viewers on WATPAD.
In the published version the lead male role was changed from HARRY STYLES to HARDIN SCOTT. The book/novel gained media attention and became a NEW YORK time bestseller.
THE MOVIE
TESSA leaves home for school and feels restrained and tries to be careful not to disappoint her mother and high school boy friend NOAH. Her mum almost a requested a room change for her when she saw her roommate STEPH appearance while she and NOAH dropped Tessa off. Tessa promises her mum that she can trust her.
While waiting in front of a locked lecture room for the class to commence the next day, she befriends a guy LANDON.
After the class, Tessa showered and when she walked into her room she sees a guy sitting on her roommate’s bed HARDIN who refuses to leave the room for her to get dressed; STEPH walks in and invites Tessa to a party but Tessa refuses and STEPH and Hardin leaves the room.
Another day, Steph goes to see Tessa at the library and invites her again for another party. Tessa gives in.
Tessa meets TRISTAN, ZED, MOLLY, JACE and HARDIN at the party in Hardin’s house and they begin a game of TRUTH or DARE and Tessa is dared to kiss Hardin but she refuses and walks away. She steps outside to call NOAH but ended the call because NOAH started to scold her for being in a party.
Wandering upstairs, she enters a room and while going through the book that she removed from a book shelf; Hardin walks in and caught up in the moment Tessa almost kissed Hardin but withdraws and walks away again.
The following day, after having a heated debate in class about a book PRIDE & PREJUDICE. Tessa vents to LANDON who tells her that Hardin is his soon to be stepbrother:his mum is getting married to Hardin’s father who is the chancellor of the school.
Later in the day, in a cafeteria; Hardin and Tessa meets again and he requests for a restart and invites her to ho with him to his favourite place after saying a ‘no’ Tessa starts to walk away but hesitates and gave in.Hardin takes her to a lake where they both swam and Tessa asks Hardin who he loves the most in this world: Hardin says himself. After swimming and trying to get dressed, Tessa and Hardin kisses. And got intimate.
They went to a diner: chat over fries and got to know each other more but Molly and Zed shows up much to Hardin’s irritation; he gave Tessa his car key who went to wait for him at the bar and after some minutes Hardin walks up to Tess and became annoyed when she said she will tell Noah about them; he tells her that he doesn’t date and Tessa leaves angrily.
The following day, Noah shows up and Tessa takes him to the bonfire where they played a game of BLOW & SUCK. Drunk JACE deliberately fails his turn in order to kiss Tess which infuriates Hardin and they get into a fight.
In her room, Tessa gets a call from Landon for help:she leaves Noah sleeping and went to his house house. She meets Landon who tells her that Hardin got into an argument with his dad and her name came out from his mouth. She goes him and sees him Sitting by the pool, drinking-he told her that he is celebrating his father’s engagement and smashes the bottle of drink on the floor. Tessa gets hurt while trying to pick the pieces; Hardin rushes to her side and they both kissed and slept.
Tessa wakes up to missed calls from Noah;she rushes off but Hardin showed up: Noah realizes and left. Steph comforts Tessa after the break up.
After days of ignoring Hardin and her mother’s calls. She went to Hardin’s house and explained how bad she feels about hurting Noah who was there for her when her dad died.
They start to spend time with each other and Carol Tessa’s mum walks into Tessa’s room while she was making out with Hardin. Carol tells Tessa to break up with him or she cuts her off. Tessa refuses to break up with him. Her mum leaves.
Hardin finds an apartment for both of them and they start to leave together: they attend his father’s engagement party to Landon’s mum and Hardin opens up to Tessa about the tragic story that led to him resenting his father and after they left the occasion Tessa gives him her virginity.
Tessa begins to get worried about the suspicious messages that Hardin gets from Molly and one night Hardin storms up to meet with Molly after telling Tessa to trust him. She follows and walks into BLIND BOB’S:Jace, Steph, Molly and Zed were there and Hardin tries to convince Tessa to leave but Molly reveals that after that night from the truth and dare; the dare went on after Tessa left and Hardin accepted a dare to make Tessa fall in love with him then break up with her and everyone was in including Steph.
Shocked Tessa left with tears in her eyes and Hardin tearfully told her that it was on till he really got to know her.
Tessa goes home and reconciles with her mum & Noah.
In the week that follows, Tessa went for an interview at VANCE PUBLISHING and when she sees Steph, Jace and Molly she didn’t say a word to them. And in her last English class, the English lecturer Pofessor SOTO gives Tessa an envelope submitted by Hardin to her. Tessa meets with Landon and finally decides to open the envelope and in it was a letter of words of realisation and remorse.
Tessa goes to the lake that Hardin and her both went together and the last words in the letter “you once asked who I love the most in this world:it’s you “. Hardin shows up and sits beside Tessa; they both turned to look at each other but said nothing.
