GINA RODRIGUEZ is MISS BALA in this dangerous world of cross-border crime filled film.
GLORIA FUENTES is an AMERICAN MAKE-UP Artiste who traveled to MEXICO-TIJUANA to visit her childhood friend SUZU, root for her and be her ‘HOLLYWOOD MAKE-UP ARTISTE’ because Suzu is in the pageantry competing to be Mexico’s MISS BALA.
Gloria arrives at Suzu’s house and after spending some time with POYO Suzu’s little brother and registering for the Pageant, they both share friendship bracelets surprise from Suzu and both dress up to go to a MILLENNIUM CLUB where all the important people behind and of the PAGEANT competition will be: to impress and see Chief Saucedo whom a rumour flies around that he sleeps with every winner of MISS BALA.
After they arrived at the club, Gloria excused herself and went to the restroom after they went to the VIP and greeted Chief Saucedo who grabbed her buttocks but in the bathroom Gloria hears some noises of thugs breaking into the club through the restroom and while she was trying to stay quiet: they dragged her out of the toilet and she hears them saying they are after the chief who was in the VIP with Suzu.
Gloria rushes out and tried to get to Suzu but a shoot out occurs between a cartel leader LINO ESPARDO and his men vs Chief Saucedo’s men.
Gloria could not find Suzu.
The police arrives at the scene.
And Gloria slept off in a cafe waiting for Suzu to call her back after she left a message. She woke up and called Poyo but from what he said she figured Suzu has not arrived home either.
She spotted a policeman standing in front of the Cafe and went to him, she told him what her issue was and he asked her to join him in the patrol car. The police man stops in front of a hotel and went inside: leaving only Gloria in the car and suddenly Lino’s men came out of the hotel grabbed her as she was trying to escape and forced her inside their vehicle.Gloria is taken to Lino Esparza’s hide out and threatened to do things for them such as plant a bomb, illegally transport money, deliver drugs but in her quest to survive, find Suzu and keep Poyo safe she finds a power she never knew she had and became cunning, inventive, strong, fast and a heroine through out her journey in the hands of Lino and his men, the DEA, Chief Saucedo, JIMMY and finally as MISS BALA.
