SEVENTY CENTS…
MIA is told the story of how she abandoned MAE LING, Mae Ling cried for days from hunger:no breast milk because the Bebe hasn’t eaten for days either, she goes to a store to buy baby food but is Seventy cent short and the store owner yells at her to leave because she didn’t have it. She later drops Mae Ling at fire station so someone would see her and take care of her. Mia encourages her to go find her daughter but she said she can’t because she is illegal.
Mia shows understanding towards Issy.
Ellen tells her husband to help do Mia’s lawn.
LEXI steals Mia’s essay and passes it out as her own and reads it out to her boyfriend Bryan who she later brings home for dinner, he meets Pearl.
Elena advices Issy when she finds out that they have been calling her names at school. ‘Ellen’.
Issy decides to go to homecoming. She took her mother’s advice to cover who she is with a lie.
Bryan is upset about what LEXI did.
Mia tries to help find Bebe’s baby.
Elena organises the one year old party of a baby her friend LINDA adopted: Mia helps her organise and Elena tells her that the child is 2 month old, Chinese and was left in a fire station. MIRABEL.
Lexi and Pearl go shopping: Lexi prompts Pearl to Ask her mum where she is from. Lexi pays for her dress.
Mia investigates.
Mia asks Pearl to take the dress back and Pearl asks her mum about her dad but Mia refuses to disclose. Mia is upset at her daughter.
Mia decides to attend the party. To take pictures.
Lexi tries to make Bryan forgive her.
Everyone goes to homecoming.
Issy tries to change people’s opinion and dances with and kisses a guy at prom, Moodie pulls Issy aside and tells her that she shouldn’t behave differently because she wants to impress people.
Bryan talks to Pearl and discovers that Lexi lied to him and didn’t tell Pearl that she stole her essay.
Elena discovers the truth about her daughter Issy.
Mia sneaks into the room where the baby is to confirm she is MAE LING. Mirabel is Mae Ling.
Bryan is upset with Lexi and Lexi had sex with him.
Mia goes to tell Bebe that she knows where her baby is but things gets out of hands as Bebe collects Mia’s car key and drives herself to the RICHARDSON’s house. Bebe interrupts the birthday party and is Carried out forcefully.
Elena tries to console Linda.
Issy wants to take a bus but is seventy cents short, the bus driver lets her: she went to Mia’s house.
